I also have the benefit of very good computer and research skills, along with technical writing and presentation skills, including facilitation. Knowledgable in environmental and biological issues. I have also recently become an efficient grantwriter. WORK HISTORY MARCH 1998 TO MARCH 2000: ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AND HEALTH COORDINATOR: WV TRAILS COALITION, PO BOX 487, NITRO, WV 25143 304/755-4878 Developed and implemented programs maximumizing benefits from an emerging statewide trails system. Duties included: Program development, grantwriting, literature design and development, volunteer supervision, and website development. MARCH 1990 TO FEBRUARY 1998: GUEST SERVICES ASSOCIATE: MARRIOTT HOTELS, 200 LEE STREET E., CHARLESTON, WV 25302 304/345-6500 Duties involved handling technical aspects of front office and restaurant operations including; registration, rooms controller, computer and switchboard operations. This expericence allowed for the development of excellent communications skills concerning both guest and employee relations to resolve problem to the satisfaction of customers, employees and management. Was also involved with the hotel transportation and safety committee. MAY 1994 TO MAY 1997: LEAD RESEARCH STUDENT: WV STATE COLLEGE DEPT OF BIOLOGY,INSTITUTE, WV 25112 304/766-3000 Involved in the design and development of environmental microbiology research project which included using standard microbiological techniques and genetic manipulation, development of nontraditional staining techniques and media formulation for several species of Thiobacilli sp. Standard laboratory equipment such as gel electrophoresis, various types of centrifuges, spectrometers and computers were used. I love the outdoors and am a huge advocate of the health and economic benefits of recreation and physical activity. Whether it's rollerblading, hiking, biking... whatever. Get up, Get Out, Get ACTIVE!! Arts and crafts are a hobby. I am currently learning to crochet and make baskets.
